rances McClenaghan is a member of 1 Chancery Lane Chambers. She joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2010 after successful completion of her pupillage. During pupillage she has been supervised by Paul Stagg, Zachary Bredemear and Kiril Waite. Under their supervision she gained considerable experience in police law, high value personal injury cases, landlord and tenant matters, and real property disputes. Frances’ practice reflects this breadth and she accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work. She appears in the County Court to conduct small and fast track trials, as well as interlocutory hearings for multi-track cases. She has experience of the Court of Protection.
Frances read law at the University of Durham. After graduating, she was employed as a research assistant for the Public Law Team at the Law Commission. During the BVC Frances won prizes in negotiation and civil procedure. She was awarded both the Sir Walter Wigglesworth Scholarship and a pupillage scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn. She has acted in employment law claims for the Free Representation Unit.
