Jeff is the Managing Director of the consulting group Tourism Safety. A qualified psychologist and lawyer, he specialises in health, safety and security for travellers and the risk management of tourist destinations. Jeff has led risk management projects in the Middle East and Asia Pacific. He provides expert advice to law firms, government agencies and industry groups. In 2004 Jeff was awarded an International Life Saving Federation Citation of Merit for his contribution to beach safety. He is lead author on seven tourism safety books and more than 160 refereed papers and book chapters. .He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in Public Health and Tropical Medicine at James Cook University, and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Griffith University. His book ‘Tourism in Turbulent Times: Towards Safe Experiences for Visitors’ (with Pendergast and Leggat) is considered a benchmark work in the field.
