Katja Helen Brecke
atja Helen Brecke is an Associate with Arnecke Siebold in Frankfurt, Germany.
She studied law at the Universities of Mannheim (Germany), Lausanne (Switzerland), the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and New York University (NYU). She was awarded a scholarship for the LLM programme “Advanced Studies in Air and Space Law” at Leiden University (Netherlands) and graduated with honours in 2010. After having worked for the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), she joined Arnecke Siebold in 2011, where she has been involved in numerous aviation related matters, including regulatory affairs, aircraft financing, claims handling and commercial disputes. She is a frequent contributor to ILO, ZLW and Air and Space Law.
In 2011 she won the IATA Legal Writing Award (Constance O’Keefe Award) for a comparative analysis on slot allocation mechanisms in the United States and Europe. She is member of the European Air Law Association (EALA), the European Aviation Club (EAC) and the German-American Lawyers’ Association (DAJV) and holds a private pilot license, PPL(A).
