Matthew’s specialist areas of practice comprise travel and holiday matters (all claims and recovery proceedings with a cross border element) and personal injury (with particular emphasis on employers’ liability matters).
He has for several years been recommended for his consumer and travel law expertise in The Legal 500 and in Chambers & Partners, in which he is described as “extremely approachable and gifted” and praised for his “amazing attention to detail”. He is especially rated when it comes to issues of jurisdictional conflict because he “knows the relevant laws inside out, so offers clear and broken-down interpretations of the Montreal Convention.” He is also recommended for his personal injury expertise in The Legal 500.
Matthew was appointed to act as Conciliator for the Passenger Shipping Association Conciliation Scheme in 2005.
