Melinda is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Communications Group at Blake Dawson in Sydney. She practises in the area of intellectual property.

Melinda’s focus is on advising clients on brand protection, exploitation and enforcement, both in Australia and globally. Melinda has extensive experience in advising local and international clients in relation to brand strategy, trade mark portfolio management, opposition and licensing of trade marks, anti-counterfeiting, advertising and marketing matters, trade mark infringement actions, domain name disputes, consumer protection, designs and intellectual property audits and due diligences.

Melinda has assisted some of Australia’s leading brands in industries as diverse as food, energy, water management, entertainment, pharmaceutical, health care, aviation, transport, financial services, publishing and hospitality to protect, manage and enforce their IP rights.

Melinda regularly presents on protecting and maximising the value of brands, including on the topics of trade mark protection and enforcement, IP policy, corporate branding strategies, marketing and advertising, social media and other intellectual property issues .
