Quad Bikes: Injuries and Prevention

Like other areas of adventure travel and tourism where recreational vehicles are involved, such as jet skis, accidents on quad bikes occur as a combination of an unfamiliar activity in an unfamiliar environment. In the case of quad bikes, there are the added elements of the quad bike’s propensity to roll over due to a high centre of gravity, possible lack of maintenance on rental vehicles, drivers and passengers not wearing helmets, and in some cases the involvement of alcohol or other drugs.
